Dual Side Door Fit-Out for a Security Company
The Brief
This Vauxhall Vivaro SWB was brought in by a security company looking to maximise every inch of storage space in a compact van. With twin sliding side doors, the customer wanted to fully utilise both sides of the van for access and organisation. The goal was to create a well-structured layout that provided dedicated storage for ladders, cable rods, large toolboxes, and other equipment — all while keeping everything secure, accessible, and easy to work from on-site.
The layout also needed to divide the van into practical zones, with clear separation between the rear load space and side door access, ensuring the van remained tidy, efficient, and optimised for day-to-day use in the field.
Customer Requirements
- A layout that fully utilised both of the sliding doors for easy access
- Dedicated storage space to the side doors for 2 ladders, plus items such as cable rods, and large toolboxes
- A false bulkhead to provide a clear divide between the side access area and rear storage
- Organised shelving to keep all tools and materials tidy and accessible
- A professional finish suitable for a mobile security service van
What We Installed
- Full false floor system with 1 Armorgard drawer, 1 pull-out drawer, and cable rod storage
- False bulkhead to divide the main load space from the side entry
- U-shaped shelving at the rear for flexible equipment storage
- Vertical ladder storage and overhead shelving accessible from the left-hand sliding door
- Flat shelving to the right-hand side for cable reels, toolboxes, and small equipment
Final Outcome
This compact Vivaro SWB has been transformed into a practical, high-capacity mobile unit, fully tailored to the needs of a security company operating in the field. By taking advantage of both sliding doors, we created a dual-access layout that allows for fast loading, efficient tool access, and clever organisation — all within the constraints of a short wheelbase van.
The full false floor maximises available storage without sacrificing space, with integrated drawers and a central cavity for long items like cable rods. The split section created by the false bulkhead helps maintain separation between different types of kit, reducing clutter and improving on-the-job efficiency. Combined with vertical ladder bays, custom shelving, and robust finishes, this is a build designed for real-world performance — strong, secure, and ready for daily use.
