The Brief
This MAN TGE L3 was fitted out for a renewable energy company needing a robust, flexible storage system for tools, components, and on-site installations. The van’s size offered plenty of potential, and the customer wanted to combine shelving, secure tool storage, and workspace into a layout that supported daily efficiency.
The initial specification included full-length shelving to the driver side to house Makita toolboxes, angled racking, and adjustable divider racking. Divider racking was also added to the passenger side, with a workbench planned for the bulkhead.
During the build, design changes were made to the front section of the driver-side racking. The angled shelves were replaced with flat panels fitted with Milwaukee Packout mounting plates, accommodating 3 drawer units, 2 standard organisers, and 2 ultra-slim organisers. A lower compartment was closed off to include a vent supplied by the customer. The workbench would be installed after racking to ensure an accurate fit.

Final Outcome
This MAN TGE L3 now provides a well-balanced, high-capacity layout tailored to the specific needs of a renewable energy engineer. The combination of fixed shelving, adjustable compartments, and Packout mounting points offers a highly flexible system that allows tools and parts to be stored securely and accessed easily on site.
The redesigned front section of racking gives the customer full integration with their existing Milwaukee Packout system, while the closed base unit ensures protection for sensitive components — including ventilation for customer-supplied hardware. With space reserved for a custom workbench, the van is not only a mobile storage hub but also a practical workspace ready for everyday demands. The result is a smart, organised setup that supports productivity and reflects the professionalism of the brand.
