Two Renault Trafic Vans
TWO RENAULT TRAFIC VANS
Construction Company Fit-Out
The Brief
We were asked to carry out a dual fit-out for two Renault Trafic vans, used by a construction company with a team of tradespeople working across different sites. The company needed a highly functional layout that would suit a variety of day-to-day tasks, including carrying tools, consumables, and sheet materials.
The vans needed to be practical, hard-wearing, and adaptable — with pull-out storage for easy access, dedicated compartments for tools, and a clever solution for transporting upright boards and panels when required. Each vehicle also needed to accommodate a mix of Euro boxes, Festool Systainers, and Makita cases, all while keeping the floor space as clear and usable as possible.
Customer Requirements
- False floor with a heavy-duty pull-out drawer
- Removable floor section to allow vertical sheet storage when needed
- Dedicated, protected slots for spirit levels and pipes
- Racking tailored to fit Euro box containers for grouped consumables
- Custom-sized compartments for Festool and Makita toolboxes
- Easy access from both rear and side doors
- A setup that maximised every bit of space without overcomplicating usage
What We Installed
- False floor system with full-width pull-out drawer on 100kg runners
- Modular removable section in the floor to stand up sheet materials securely when needed
- Side-mounted pipe and level storage channel, padded for protection
- Rack system on offside designed to take Euro box containers
- Shelving bays with mixed-depth compartments to accommodate Festool Systainers and Makita stackable cases
To deliver that level of flexibility for two Renault Trafic vans, we built a false floor with a full-width, heavy-duty pull-out drawer that allowed quick access to tools and larger items. A removable centre panel in the floor gave the option to stand sheet materials upright when needed, without compromising the rest of the layout. The racking was carefully measured to suit the client’s specific toolboxes – including Euro box containers, Festool Systainers, and Makita cases – so everything slotted in securely without wasted space. Dedicated compartments were added for longer items like spirit levels and pipework, and the entire design ensured the van could easily adapt between tasks without constant rearranging.
The finished setup gives the construction team a smart, professional system that keeps tools secure, organised, and ready to go — while still offering the flexibility to handle awkward or oversized loads. With everything in its place, the team can load up quickly, reduce time spent searching for tools on site, and make full use of the van’s footprint.
