The Brief
A roofing company approached us with a requirement to fully maximise their Vauxhall Movano 3500 LWB for professional use. Their top priority was to create structured, durable storage for all the equipment typically used on roofing jobs, including ladders, pipework, conduit, silicone tubes, spirit levels, cordless power tools, safety harnesses, sealants, and small fittings. Given the nature of their work, easy access to both long and short items was essential, along with the flexibility to store hand tools and consumables separately from larger equipment.
They also requested that we retain practical movement throughout the van without compromising on storage volume. With multiple types of gear to accommodate, the setup needed to be organised, spacious, and future-proofed with easy-access zones both from the rear and the side of the van.
Customer Requirements
- Create a high-capacity storage layout to accommodate the demands of a roofing company
- Include structured shelving for a wide range of roofing tools and materials
- Ensure space for long items like conduit and piping
- Add storage for silicone tubes, sealants, and smaller fittings
- Incorporate separate areas for cordless tools and larger items
- Maintain full standing height for unrestricted movement
- Enable access from both the rear and side doors
- Create a future-proof layout that can evolve with tool changes
What We Installed
- Full false floor with four heavy-duty pull-out drawers – two at the rear, two at the side door
- Two dedicated pipe storage compartments for long and short lengths
- Full-length shelving and divider racking fitted along the driver’s side
- Shelving unit on the bulkhead, including a 16 capacity silicone holder
- Divider racking on the passenger side with a 16 capacity silicone holder
- Storage compartments at the rear ends of both racking units
- Hidden hatch in the false floor to utilise dead space
- Finished in 12mm plywood for strength and a clean, professional appearance
The completed fit-out for this Vauxhall Movano LWB provided the customer with a robust, organised storage system tailored to the demands of a roofing business. The full false floor, combined with multiple pull-out drawers and dedicated pipe storage sections, ensured that both long and short items could be stored securely and accessed quickly. The silicone tube holders, shelving units and divider racking created logical storage zones, keeping tools and consumables neatly separated.
With easy access from both the side and rear doors, the customer can now work more efficiently on-site, knowing exactly where each tool and piece of equipment is located. The 12mm plywood finish not only delivers durability but also gives the van a clean, professional appearance, making it a functional workspace ready to handle the daily demands of roofing projects.
