The Brief
This Vauxhall Vivaro LWB came in for a full storage-focused fit-out for a heating and plumbing engineer who needed to make the absolute most of the available space. The customer wanted a layout that offered maximum organisation for fittings, pipework, and tools – with the flexibility to access essential components from both inside and outside the van. The vehicle was fitted with sliding doors on both sides, and the customer opted to fully utilise one side wall with full-length racking and pipe storage, while still retaining quick external access to parts and tools.
Customer Requirements
- A full false floor to provide concealed storage without losing floor space
- Multiple pull-out drawers for tools, fittings, and everyday kit
- Dedicated pipe storage to safely carry long lengths of copper or plastic
- Racking solutions that allowed storage right up to the bulkhead
- Maintain access to frequently used items from the side door
- A layout that maximised the capacity of the long wheelbase van without restricting movement
What We Installed
- Full false floor system with two rear pull-out drawers and a third side-access drawer to the right-hand side
- Pipe storage channel installed along the left side, designed to hold 3m lengths securely and out of the way
- Divider-style racking to the left-hand side, running the full length to the bulkhead for maximum vertical storage
- Additional racking unit positioned by the side door and flipped for external access, giving the customer quick reach to key components
- A compact racking unit installed to the right-hand side for structured storage of small-to-medium items
Final Outcome
The result of this Vauxhall Vivaro fit-out is a highly functional, space-maximising layout that delivers structure, order, and practicality for a busy heating and plumbing engineer. By carefully designing each element of the van’s interior, we were able to turn empty space into purposeful storage – giving the customer a tailored system that supports efficiency on the job.
The three pull-out drawers offer quick, compartmentalised access to tools and kit without the need to climb into the van, while the full-length pipe storage keeps long materials safe, secure, and out of the way. Racking along the full driver’s side, including a flipped side-door unit, allowed us to introduce external access without sacrificing internal storage volume – a clever way to make the most of the van’s dual sliding doors.
Everything has its place, from bulkier equipment to smaller components, and the design ensures the customer can work faster, stay more organised, and minimise setup time on-site. This is a van that’s been built for real-world use – ready for the demands of daily trade work with no wasted space and no compromise.
