Vauxhall Vivaro – Plumbing & Heating Fit-Out
VAUXHALL VIVARO LWB
Plumbing & Heating Engineer Van Fit-Out
The Brief
Our customer, a plumbing and heating engineer, required a practical and organised layout for his Vauxhall Vivaro LWB. The key priority was to retain full headroom throughout the van, so a false floor was not an option. Instead, he needed an internal layout that could accommodate long lengths of 3m pipework, a selection of small fittings, and a few larger toolboxes that he uses on most jobs.
The customer also wanted easy external access from both side doors, with one side focused on toolbox storage and the other dedicated to smaller plumbing parts. This was essential to keep frequently used items easily accessible without having to climb into the van every time. Overall, the layout needed to be clean, efficient, and versatile for both maintenance and installation work.
Customer Requirements
- Full-height storage space with no false floor
- Dedicated 3m pipe storage with easy access
- External access for frequently used toolboxes
- Shelving for small fittings like elbows, valves, washers, and push-fit connectors
- Compartmental storage for consumables such as PTFE tape, olives, flux, and fittings
- Easy access to both driver and passenger side sliding doors
What We Installed
- Euro box racking system (12-box capacity) running up to the nearside sliding door
- External access racking on the offside to hold large DeWalt and Makita toolboxes
- Full-length under-rack pipe storage section with both internal and external access points
- Divider racking with adjustable inserts on the driver side for small part organisation
- Integrated open shelf space for quick-access consumables
Final Outcome
This custom fit-out delivered exactly what the customer needed – an intelligent use of space that didn’t compromise on headroom. The dual-access design allowed the engineer to reach his most-used items directly from either side of the van, significantly cutting down on time spent searching or unloading. The pipe storage beneath the racking was a standout feature, offering dedicated space for different sizes and lengths of pipe with smooth access from multiple points.
The result was a sleek, professional-looking van that met the demands of everyday plumbing work while remaining versatile for larger installations. With separate, organised sections for fittings, tools, and materials, the customer left with a fully functional mobile workspace that’s easy to use and built to last.
